2013 QANTAS SPIRIT OF OZ GDAY USA PARTY - ED KAVALEE & JOSH LAWSON

At ‘I Am Starstruck’, we are head over heels for all talented home grown hotties!

We love to support local Aussie talent (ahem our annual television highlight of the year is the TV Week Logie Awards), and what defs calls for some celebratory champers, is when these Aussies make it big in Hollywood.

And that is exactly what the GDAY USA festivities do - celebrate and embrace the talent of Australia’s exceptional exports in LA’s tinsel town.

The GDAY USA proceedings officially kicked off today with a Qantas Spirt of Australia party.

Check out these hot shots of our Aussies doing us proud as they step onto the red carpet (MIRANDER KERR ALERT, plus Zoe Ventoura, Dan MacPherson, Keith Urban and more)!

'WORKING DOG' : AUSTRALIA'S ANSWER TO SHEER BRILLIANT ONSCREEN COMEDYLeeshie here! You don’t have to know me personally to know the extensive passion and love I have for Australian cinema and television. The TV Week Logie Awards are my annual television highlight of the year, and the fact that over 70% of my blogposts are Australian pop culture related, is a dead give away that I’m a true local talent advocate!Today I’d like to extend a warm thankyou to the NSW Board of Studies and my high school’s English department.  It was just a few years ago, when I was instructed to witness the sheer brilliance of Working Dog Productions. As a part of my high school studies, I examined the notions and concepts explored in Australian series ‘Frontline’ & 'The Hollowmen'.But as soon as I started watching, it was no longer a curriculum driven chore. The absolute success factor of these productions, was crafted by the witty, entertaining and thought provoking content created by Rob Sitch et al (Working Dog).I have been a fan of these masterminds for YEARS and then finally this year I was given the opportunity to interview Rob Sitch himself!  This magic all occurred at the Sydney Premiere of ‘Any Questions For Ben’; ‘Working Dog’s newest film.I even remember thanking Rob Sitch myself for creating such phenomenal onscreen content that has set the world record for being “homework” that is actually FUN!Now let’s draw the direction of this post to the present… I watched 'Any Questions For Ben' again today, and I don’t even know where to start in applauding the cast and crew. What made this film SO good that I will probably go dream about it (that’s an AWESOME thing in my books, trust me), is that its creation involved the exploration of relatable themes, yet still with a touch of Working Dog’s signature wit and comedy.  The choice of cast members was impeccable.  From Josh Lawson to Rachael Taylor to Jodi Gordon to Christian Clark to Lachy Hulme; every character was portrayed so well that I’d like to create my own awards show and present each actor with a congratulatory ‘I Am Starstruck’ statuette!Touching base on the film itself, I feel more driven than ever before.  I’m still so young and far from a quarter life crisis (I hope), but the notions of striving for what you want, when you want it and still having a laugh as you go along, were reinforced in me and for that I say the following.THANK YOU ‘WORKING DOG’ ! Whether it be for exposing me to the insider antics of politics & media, learning who Lachy Hulme is prior to his ‘Offspring’ and ‘Howzat’ days or for making me a popular dinner party guest with my ‘Mike Moore’ impersonations, I’d just like to say THANK YOU!Image Sources: The Sydney Morning Herald and ABCTo read my ‘Any Questions For Ben’ article published on Yahoo!7 ‘s ‘The Hype’ page, click here: http://au.movies.yahoo.com/on-show/article/-/12836476/any-questions-for-ben-sydney-premiere/
